West Hawthorn Early Childhood Centre is a not for profit, community managed long daycare and kindergarten centre.
We are a small 40 place centre, have been in continuous operation for over 25 years and are fully accredited.
West Hawthorn Early Childhood Centre (WHECC) aims to provide a safe, caring and healthy environment that fosters responsiveness to the growth and development of each child and creates a sense of belonging.
Offering both long daycare and a government funded 4 year old kindergarten programme with a qualified teacher and assistant, WHECC provides continuous care across the years and a smooth transition across our three age- and developmental stage appropriate rooms.
The day to day running and staffing of the centre is the responsibility of our qualified centre director and we are supported by a committee of parents who have responsibility over staffing, policy and communication, finance, fundraising and maintenance.
With our parents involvement, we provide a place for open collaboration, always keeping the child’s and family’s best interests in mind.
