In 2010 Blackville students Liam Prowse and Alex Simpson won both the junior and senior sections of the regional final of the Premiers Spelling Bee in Tamworth, qualifying them to compete in the state final in Sydney.
Technology
At Blackville Public School we value the role of technology in breaking down the geographic isolation of our students. Through the support of programs such as 'Investing in our Schoosl', Country Areas Programs' and 'Connecting Classrooms'. We have been able to keep up to date with the latest technology and train staff and students in it's use. We are fortunate to have in excess of one desktop per student. Each primary age student also has use of a laptop. Both classrooms have an interactive smartboard and since the upgrading of our internet, we now have access to video conferencing facilities.
