St John's Primary School is a systemic school catering for children from Kindergarten to Year 6 in the parish of Maitland which is situated in the Hunter Valley only 30 minutes west of Newcastle on the New England Highway.
The school places particular emphasis on the Key Learning Areas and endeavours to cater for the needs of all children. Currently the school is developing strong links between the Key Learning Areas and Information Technology.
The school recognises and encourages the important role that parents play in the education of their children and therefore parents are actively involved in all facets of school life.
