Coleraine is situated in a beautiful valley on the banks of Bryan' s Creek. It is about midway between Hamilton to the east and Casterton to the west on the Glenelg Highway in the Southern Grampians Shire in the Western District of Victoria. Coleraine has a population of approximately 1000, with a large proportion of the population over 65 (about 30%).
The children of Coleraine attend either Coleraine Primary School (established in 1855) or St Joseph’s School for their primary education and are bussed to Hamilton or Casterton Secondary College for their secondary education.
