Rose Bay Public School was established in July 1891 with an enrolment of 16 pupils. Originally located at the junction of Military Road and Old South Head Road, Rose Bay. It moved in April 1907 to occupy the present Albemarle Avenue site, situated in a quiet residential area at the base of the South Head Peninsular between Sydney Harbour and Bondi Beach.
The school is now rapidly growing, with a current enrolment of 490 children in 2010, incorporating a population which features diverse socioeconomic and cultural groups.
