Melba Conservatorium of Music, established in 1901, is one of Australia's oldest tertiary music institutions. It is named after Dame Nellie Melba who set up her Vocal program and taught here.
The Conservatorium offers the TAFE accredited Certificate II in Initial Music Studies and Higher Education courses: Diploma of Music and Bachelor of Music. The Melba also provides individual tuition in most instruments, voice, music theory, musicianship, preparation for AMEB exams and short courses. The Melba Conservatorium is affiliated with Victoria University.
