The Queensland Centre for Gynaecological Cancer is responsible to Queensland Health for the provision of gynaecological cancer services within the state of Queensland. It is the largest gynaecological cancer service in Australia, treating over 1300 new patients per annum, of which over 750 have malignancy, the remainder requiring complex pelvic surgery. The Centre provides a service based in Brisbane with satellite sub-centre services around Queensland. The Centre's services involve the provision of clinical care with respect to the diagnosis, investigation and treatment of female genital tract malignancy and complex pelvic surgery. However, the Centre also provides teaching, training and research services with respect to the epidemiology, aetiology, screening, prevention and management of gynaecological cancer.
