Strathmerton Primary School enrols students from Grade Prep – 6. It is situated in a rural township along the Murray Valley Highway. The Strathmerton community is very supportive of the school. Approximately half of the students travel into school by bus from outlying farming areas.
The buildings are set in attractively landscaped grounds. They include a modern, well-equipped library in a brick building with 5 comfortable classroom spaces, a relocatable classroom and the Bristol (our art room). Our new BER school hall space is freely accessed by all classes and used for assemblies, music/drama, PE and community events.
Students are offered learning activities within the essential areas as well as a wide variety of extra-curricular activities. The aim of these programs is to allow all students the opportunity to develop their strengths, and to become more confident. We combine with a range of nearby schools for sports and collegial activities.
The school promotes ongoing professional development for staff, and parents are encouraged to be involved in parent education programs, and as parent helpers.
