Corowa Public School is located beside the Murray River. The majority of the students live within the township of Corowa. Others travel by bus from the surrounding rural district or interstate from nearby Wahgunyah. Parents of many of the students are also engaged in shift work. The school has strong links with the local community and mainly reflects values consistent with its rural location. The school's mission statement, developed by staff and parents, states: Children - Parents - Staff 'Striving for quality education in a caring environment'. Corowa Public School, being the largest feeder school to the local high school, has well appointed facilities and is situated in extensive grounds. Its location adjoining the river and common land affords the opportunity for involvement in environmental studies. A community emphasis on sport also enables the students to access a variety of excellent venues and coaching, as part of the school sporting program.
