Cowra High School is a comprehensive school in a rural community. The school enjoys a tradition of high academic achievement. The school offers a broad curriculum with widening access to vocational courses. It has earned recognition for successful participation in sport, music, student support programs, art, student exchange and Aboriginal literacy and cultural programs. The school is currently renewing its focus on the early years of secondary schooling through a locally developed study skills program delivered to all Year 7 students. The special education centre has been completed and provides an attractive environment for the very successful special learning program.
