Yates Avenue Public School was established in 1958. It has spacious, pleasant grounds and covers an area of five acres. It is situated in the suburban Dundas Valley. Dwellings are, in the main, houses.

Most of these are privately owned and some are leased by the Department of Housing. The Yates Avenue Public School community is committed to providing quality education in a caring environment for all students and providing students with the skills and attitudes necessary to become valued and valuable members of society. The school community has a sound reputation as a small, friendly school in a supportive environment. The School Council, Parents and Citizens Association and experienced staff work closely together to establish high expectations and to ensure quality education for all students.
