Rydalmere East Public School is a small community school with special emphasis on the development of literacy and numeracy skills, supported by outstanding facilities and resources. We provide a balanced literacy program which effectively utilises our additional support staff. This allows for the students to be working in small groups with a high level of engagement, explicit quality activities and high expectations throughout each lesson. Our school is a member of the Centre for Excellence in numeracy. We provide meaningful, rich activities for all students. These include Mathletics, Count Me In Too, Counting On, explicit problem solving strategies, Quick Smart. Relevant hands on experiences allow students make substantial connections to their prior knowledge. Technology is embedded in all class programs as students are given opportunities to work productively in an environment clearly focussed on learning outcomes.
