Forbes Public School has approximately 285 students in 16 classes including a learning centre. It has two computer labs - one as an integral part of the library - and Smartboards (electronic interactive whiteboards) in all classrooms.
It is situated in Central Western New South Wales in the Forbes Shire. The area is rich in history and boasts a number of beautiful buildings - a legacy of the gold rush years of the 1800s.
Some of Forbes' main features include Lake Forbes, Victoria Park, the Town Hall, Post Office, Vandenberg Hotel and the National Bank.
Public education in Forbes was established in 1862 and has undergone a number of transitions in that time.
