Irrawang High School has a population of over 900 students and 80 staff. It is one of two State High Schools located in Raymond Terrace. The school was established in 1983 and is in easy reach of Newcastle and its tertiary institutions. We endeavour to promote excellence in academic, cultural and sporting performance.
We aim to: Provide all students with a balanced, general education; provide students with the opportunity to extend their education in order to prepare more thoroughly for the world of work, for higher education and for citizenship; know and care for students as individuals, endeavouring to develop in them self respect, self confidence, a sense of their individuality and a sense of belonging; develop all students' aptitudes, abilities and interests to the maximum; foster within our school equal opportunity and esteem for all; and develop a sense of personal and social responsibility in all students towards themselves and to others.
