Neutral Junction School is located on Neutral Junction Station, 230km south of Tennant Creek. The feeder area includes Crawford Range, Tara and Barrow Creek communities. The population of the surrounding community is approximately 50. The community can be accessed via road; 4WD is recommended and access is dependent on weather conditions.
Neutral Junction school is a member of the Barkly Group School and provides education services for students from preschool to middle years. The school has a jointly developed common literacy and numeracy with Stirling School in an effort to better coordinate education delivery as students regularly move between these two schools.
