The school draws its students from a wide range of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds, with our refugee children coming mainly from Africa. The students represent a wide range of abilities, from those with significant learning disabilities to those who are highly gifted. More than half the students come from outside the local area because of the school’s innovative programs. Some families move into the area in order to enrol their children in the school. We enjoy a very high level of parent and community involvement and support.
Buranda students are happy, engaged and motivated, and they achieve good results. They are encouraged to wonder, imagine, question, puzzle and think – alone and with others. Buranda students like being at school and they enjoy learning.
