Middlemount Community School is a state school that provides a quality, seamless education from Prep to Year 12. Our school, with an enrolment of approximately 350 students, serves the local mining community of Middlemount and the surrounding rural properties. We are a community of learners and this is reflected in our school motto, Learning together, preparing for tomorrow.
We offer curriculum in eight key learning areas from Prep to Year 10, including LOTE (Japanese). From 2012, our English, Maths and Science programs will be based on the National Curriculum. We encourage participation in the Arts and Sport through both curriculum delivery and extra-curricular activities, such as instrumental music and choir
Students in year 11 and 12 are able to access a range of academic and vocational subjects. These may be offered at the school, through the School of Distance Education or through other Registered Training Organisations.Our valued partnerships with local industries and businesses allow us to offer students a range of School Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships, from Retail and Hospitality to Diesel Fitting.
