Ormeau Woods State High School is located on the corner of Goldmine Road and Minka Lane, Ormeau Woods State High is a new school that opened in January 2009 with 250 students in Years 8 and 9.
It is a ‘state of the art’ facility that features three science laboratories, three computer laboratories, industry standard kitchen and al fresco dining café, ‘green room’ and editing suite, two Industrial Design and Technology workshops and construction court, art studios and modern classrooms.
A feature of the school is the Resource and Research Centre which is gaining widespread recognition in education circles for its ‘soft furnishings – high technology’ approach to library usage.
The school is a technology rich environment that is conscientiously progressing towards a ‘paperless’ learning environment. There is extensive use of computers, PCs and laptops, Interactive White Boards and data projectors and the latest software applications used in all subject areas.
