The Hearing Research Unit for Children has been established within the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences in 2007. This research unit is devoted to the study of hearing and hearing disorders in children who may have associated speech, language and learning difficulties. This unit capitalises upon the strengths of individual team members and collaborators across the disciplines of audiology, speech pathology, occupational therapy and otorhinolaryngology, providing opportunities for multidisciplinary research of the highest national and international standards. Studies will focus on the screening and identification of hearing impairment in children from birth, and habilitation in children with hearing impairment, using cutting edge technologies.
