Trevallyn Primary School currently has an enrolment of around 400 students. This is predicted to remain fairly steady. The supportive ""family"" atmosphere in the school is something that is highlighted. In recent years a change in the student population has meant a significant number of students in ""Out of Home Care"" are enrolled at Trevallyn. The school has been able to provide a supportive and caring environment for these students with significant needs. Trevallyn Primary School is situated in an inner suburb of Launceston bordering the spectacular Cataract Gorge. The school has traditionally been very highly regarded and this continues to be strongly evident throughout the wider community. The community boasts a number of clubs, services and youth organisations. A small commercial centre, doctors’ surgery and child health clinic is located close by. Abacus Child Care Centre provides an after school care program on the school site and has recently worked on a research project in partnership with the school. Trevallyn Primary School has a mixture of old and new student accommodation with the oldest buildings approximately 70 years old and the most recent being opened during 1997 as part of a major redevelopment. The development of the outdoor environment continues to be our challenge and future focus. Our community, through our School Association, has supported the development of the playground and outdoor facilities.
