Springfield Gardens Primary is a Kindergarten to year 6 school, located in West Moonah, Hobart. We provide a rich early years program in partnership with parents, for children from birth to Kinder age, with a strong focus on the development of physical, social, cognitive, pre-literacy and numeracy skills. Our school is nestled into the foothills of Mount Wellington, commanding outstanding views of the Derwent River. The school was opened in 1960 with an enrolment of 100 children. In 1972, a second campus was built. The extensive school grounds and the adjoining council reserve have developed as a recreational facility for the whole community, in partnership with the Glenorchy City Council. Our school caters for a diverse socio-economic and cultural mix, reflecting the composition of our broader school community.
