Abbotsford Primary is a small, inner city school located in the City of Yarra, providing education for local families since 1877, and is part of a thriving, bustling multicultural community. Our historic brick building has been classified as worthy of preservation by the National Trust and we are very proud of our historical and cultural heritage.
Making a difference for our young people is our core business. We aim to support and challenge students to develop skills, competencies and values that will enable them to thrive.
Students are encouraged and supported to aim high and to work together to achieve the best possible outcomes for all. We work to ensure that students have access to a comprehensive, quality curriculum that caters for their different learning needs and interests.
Classroom programs include a range of teaching and learning strategies to help students develop deep levels of thinking and application. The Victorian Essential Learning Standards (VELS) is used to develop an integrated approach to curriculum planning, teaching and assessment.
