Cockatoo Montessori School is located in a beautiful rural setting of approximately 5 acres on the outskirts of Cockatoo. We are a small-scale establishment (foundation year 2004) set up to provide a quality education programme for up to 70 children from 3 to 12 years of age.
One of the things which makes our school different from others in the area, is our faithful application of the principles of Montessori education. This holistic and child-centred philosophy offers children a full preparation for their lives ahead, with attention to all facets of their development.
Montessori felt that the ultimate goal of education was the building of world peace. At Cockatoo Montessori School you will notice this theme underpins all that we do. From the leafy environment, to the peaceful ways in which children interact with teachers and each other, our Montessori program is food for the intellect, the body and the spirit.
