Established in 1959, Colac South West Primary School is situated within a stable urban and rural population in Colac and District. Currently with an enrolment of 386 students, it is situated in Wilson Street, Colac. Colac is situated 90 kilometres from Geelong and has four major state primary schools in the district. Enrolments at Colac South West are mainly from the city area, but over 70 students are transported from outlying areas by car and bus. Colac South West is serviced by four kindergartens and is a feeder school for three post primary schools. The school runs an active transition program with the neighbourhood kindergartens and post primary schools.
