Southern Cross Primary we have established a learning environment that encourages children to be curious, inspired and successful in their learning. Our teachers are highly trained across a wide range of curriculum areas and are dedicated to professional collegiate conversation and moderation about the processes of teaching and learning across the school.
All teachers have experience and a deep understanding of learning at all ages and this facilitates excellent program planning across all curriculum areas.
Our school buildings have been designed to provide a learning area for all curriculum needs. We have bright open plan classrooms which enable classes to work in a variety of ways. This includes class, level, focus and buddy groups across all year levels. Our Multi-Media Centre is a hub of activity encompassing a range of technologies and music.
Students work with computers, film making, music production and recording equipment to extend and enrich their learning experiences. Our Art Room provides the opportunity for children to develop the skills of creativity enabling many beautiful pieces of artwork to be completed. Activities and games can be experienced in our Multi-Purpose Room or outside with our Physical Education Teacher.
Our grounds are conducive to safe play including playground equipment for all age levels, an internal courtyard featuring games area, an internal sand pit, several covered seating areas, rotundas and gardens.
The students are also the proud owners of a wonderful vegetable garden that provides nutritional food for our healthy eating curriculum.
