Mansfield Secondary College is a co-educational college situated in the rural township of Mansfield in north-eastern Victoria. The 450 students attending the college live in Mansfield and in the surrounding area bounded by Merton, Barjarg, Mt Buller and Woods Point.
Mansfield is the gateway to the High Country and the popular snowfields resort of Mount Buller. The district economy is based on tourism, hospitality, agriculture, forestry and government services. A high proportion of the employment available is part-time or casual.
The College provides a comprehensive challenging curriculum for all students from year 7-12. Year seven students study a common curriculum covering all eight Key Learning Areas. To aid transition small numbers of experienced staff work with students to develop their basic knowledge and skills.
The College is proud of its facilities which include a modern library and administration area, extensive information technology facilities, excellent science laboratories, and spacious and attractive grounds. Recent improvements include the construction of the Performing Arts Centre and completion of the Arts/Technical upgrade and gymnasium. College facilities are used extensively by community groups.
The College values its strong links with the local community and the support provided for College programs. We will continue to work with our community to develop programs to meet the current and future educational needs of our students.
