Porepunkah Primary School is located on the banks of the Ovens River near the foot of Mount Buffalo and adjacent to the National Park. Currently it has an enrolment of 93 children and serves an accessible rural community that is steadily growing.
There has been a primary school in the township of Porepunkah since 1873 and the school boasts a long tradition of community involvement, community pride and a real feeling of community ownership.
The school has a history of commitment to the best interests of its students, especially their educational development, their long-term welfare and their overall safety.
