Yackandandah Primary School is situated in North East Victoria between Beechworth and Wodonga about 300 kilometres from Melbourne. It serves a community within a 20 km radius from which the children are bused or driven to school. Many parents commute to Albury-Wodonga for employment.
Yackandandah is a picturesque and historic town with a strong heritage linked to the early discovery of gold in 1852. The original historic school building serves as an adminstration area and art room, while the newly constructed learning centres are nestled behind it.
