Cunderdin DHS is situated in the wheatbelt, 160km east of Perth and 60km east of Northam. Student numbers have fluctuated somewhat over the past few years but appear to be steady. Local businesses employ the majority of parents. Some students are the third generation of their family to attend Cunderdin DHS. Retention of secondary students has been a focus for the school with the introduction of the College and Academy streams. The Academy is designed to cater for students who prefer a more 'hands on' approach to education, and the College is to cater for students who are considering TER subjects in their Years 11 and 12. The school caters for a range of students from different backgrounds in Kindergarten to Year 10.
