The Primary Industries Climate Challenges Centre (PICCC) is a collaborative venture between the University of Melbourne and the Victorian Department of Primary Industries (DPI). PICCC was launched in February 2011.
By joining forces through PICCC, the University of Melbourne and the DPI offer a significant new strength in research, development and extension. As the only centre addressing the impacts of a changing climate, as well as adaptation and mitigation, PICCC’s focus will be on production, environmental, policy and social issues at both the enterprise and landscape level.
PICCC aims to advance the long term sustainability of Australia’s food and fibre production through knowledge generation and sharing, and capacity building.
The Centre is a forum for partners to plan, share and implement their new projects, strategic directions and improved outcomes. It provides leadership and increased capacity to undertake better research, development and extension.
