The Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, which is a division of the Faculty of the VCA and Music, has a distinguished history reaching back to the awarding of the first music degree at the University of Melbourne in 1879. It is the oldest and one of the largest music schools in Australia, with the largest cohort of international students.
