The University of Queensland has one of the strongest Schools of Psychology in Australia. Its reputation is built on excellence in teaching, research, and service to the community. The School offers more than 50 courses at the undergraduate level, providing a thorough coverage of the core areas of psychology while giving ample opportunity to specialise in particular fields. Our first-year teaching team received an Australian Universities Award for Teaching in 2005, and we attract high-achieving undergraduates from across Australia and internationally. In the School, students can complete a four-year Bachelor of Psychological Science, a three-year Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) or Bachelor of Science, or they may choose to study a few psychology courses as part of another degree. An accredited fourth year of study may be completed through a Psychology Honours degree.
At Masters level, we offer a research degree and coursework programs in Clinical Psychology, Organisational Psychology, Sport and Exercise Psychology, and Applied Psychology. These degrees provide practical, professional training in specialist areas of applied psychology. In addition, we offer the Master of Counselling, jointly with the School of Social Work and Human Services.
