Suttontown Primary School is a small school established on spacious grounds in close proximity to farming land and pine forests, just 5km from the centre of Mount Gambier. After 50 years of public education based at the Suttontown Chapel, the current school
site was established in 1917.
At present there are four classrooms, but the school is undergoing a major upgrade
that will provide a hall and improve facilities for the library, computer room and
classrooms. Suttontown Primary's values are resilience, persistence, cooperation, organisation and confidence.
The school provides a child-centred learning environment that presents many
opportunities for whole-school activities and cross-age tutoring. Literacy and numeracy
are focus areas for curriculum, interactive whiteboards in each class facilitate online learning, and our Christian Pastoral Support Worker has a major impact on wellbeing
across the school community. Parent participation is encouraged in curriculum support, general activities and the decision making processes of the school.
