About Banyule Primary School

Banyule Primary School was established in 1962 to meet the needs of the quickly growing northern suburban area.

We have consolidated the school with an established reputation for offering high standards of excellence in education.

Banyule Primary School is now a vital part of the local community.

The school itself is set on a large site, surrounded by Australian native flora, which blends in beautifully with the nearby parklands.

The school consists of three main buildings, and a freestanding Art room. The new two million dollar wing is a state of the art educational facility that houses four large classrooms, a huge library, quiet learning rooms, a seminar room, internal toilets and wet area and a very large open-learning space for interactive work. We call this facility our ‘Learning Neighbourhood’.

All classrooms are heated and air-conditioned.

A computer network is installed throughout the school. Each classroom has a bank of computers connected to the network. All classrooms are equipped with state-of-the-art interactive whiteboards designed to engage and motivate students whilst exploring the latest in technology.

The grounds include shady native gardens and courtyards, a large sports oval with terraced banks, grassy play areas, three adventure playgrounds that have been erected in separate parts of the grounds in order to provide recreation for children of all ages, large asphalted areas and a smaller oval which is very popular with the junior school children.
